PRODUCT NOTE

The name, ‘Le Origini’ means ‘in the beginning’, a reference to Bolla being the first winery to market ‘Amarone’ way back in 1953. Made using selected bunches of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes. After harvesting each year, the grapes are dried on racks until February of the following year before being pressed, fermented and then aged in Slovenian 500 litre oak barrels for 21 months. An incredibly rich and smooth wine with the ability to age in bottle for many years.

FOOD MATCHING NOTE

Made using selected bunches of Corvina and Corvinone grapes. An incredibly rich wine with soft everlasting tannins blending to create a balanced and harmonious velvet finish.

ABOUT THE WINE MAKER

The legend goes that in 1959, Frank Sinatra walked out of a restaurant in the States because it didn’t serve Bolla Soave. An endorsement indeed from the head of the Rat Pack and one that goes to show that Bolla has a long-standing reputation for fine quality wines and pioneering winemaking.

It all started with Soave in 1883 when Abele Bolla opened his own restaurant and decided to serve wines that he had produced himself. The wine, a Soave, was immediately recognised as being true to the land, a wine that captured the essence of the Veneto region. His hobby turned into a family obsession which is carried on today by Bolla’s winemaker Christian Scrinzi.
